In the modern world, It won’t be strange anymore if you buy new computers from electronic websites. From my perspective, it looks old fashioned if you go to a computer store and review each product there. If you really need a new PC or mobile computing, try to find the information first in the internet. There are plenty of full reviews that you can find from internet so I think you’ll know much more than if you go to a computer shop or electronic dealers in real world. Another positive thing is, you must not to go out from your home sweet home. You could read about different products and different brands in front of your computer.

I always went to electronic malls when I had time to check new releases. I checked their prices and displays but I realized I was just wasting my precious time. Start from early 2006, I always buy everything online, start from new video games to new PCs. Even if you think you do not need new electronic products online, you can minimally try to discover what electronic item do you want with your Opera.

If five years ago new PCs or other gadgets are designed for children and nerds, now it is quite easy to find new products for your need. Many companies like Toshiba or Sony produced their own business laptops. With not-so expensive price tags, you could get the best performance from new laptops. It is the same with PCs. You do not need to search for old computers if you have a tight budget, you can expect PCs which specially designed for your kind.

Computer companies know everyone has different missions. There are people who buy new computers for games but the others buy new PCs for their jobs. Nevertheless, there are too many new computers released every day so I think the best option for you is to search in the internet what is the best product for you. It will be pretty hard and very time consuming for you if you insist on “traditional way” Searching for new gadgets online is the most effective way at the present time.

Buying a desktop computer need not be a traumatic experience. You just need to know your specifications and limitations. But, if you are like the majority, identifying the specs alone will prove to be daunting.

Purpose

One should decide the primary use of the computer. Will it be storage for thousands of audio and video files? Will it be used solely for encoding documents and spreadsheets? Or is it intended for a gamer? Clearly, the unit that you will be buying must meet your requirements based on how your plan to use it.

Budget

This is where the limitation enters the scene. Set a budget and stick to it. Be prepared for a plethora of gadgets and peripherals with varying costs and warranties. Always consider the price coupled with the warranty. An item may appear to be a money saver, however, it does not bear any warranty. On the other hand, a mid-priced item may demand that you cough up a couple more dollars, but see, it has 1 year warranty.

Remember, it is not wise to buy top of the line computers because after a couple of years it will become obsolete. And with our fast paced environment and advance technology, it may even be sooner.

Accessories

Will your purpose necessitate a flat panel monitor? Twelve or twenty-one inches? Aesthetically pleasing or not? Printers: colored or just your basic black and white? How about the speaker, the web cam, and the scanner? Are these needed as well?

Research

With all the questions posted in the previous paragraphs, research is but mandatory. By conducting research, not only will you find your ideal computer but you will get a chance to learn the lingo as well. Now the words RAM, PCI slots, and firewall ports are no longer gibberish. And for the first time, you were able to clearly understand the salesperson despite his fast talks and marketing spiel.

Shop Around

If you are still somewhat confused with the tech jargon, a quick visit to your local computer stores will help you to grasp the lingo. It does not matter if you are hiring a service or purchasing a manufactured good, shopping around and canvassing for comparison are simply vital.

As with any business, there will always be establishments offering the same item that have different selling prices. Though it should be remembered that the low-priced item does not necessary mean good deal. With this said, having the most expensive gadget does not always equate to great quality as well.

The Uses

Gaming: For most gamers, a basic computer will not do. They require fast processors, large amounts of RAM, huge screen, a booming speaker, and the best video card money can afford, or their money can afford. Not to mention specialized keyboards, mouse, and headsets.

Photo & Video Editing: Casual editing can be performed on most desktop computers. However, professionals in this field demand that they have a fast processor, a lot of disk space, and high-end component cards. Peripherals may include printers and tablet pointing devices (in lieu of the mouse).

All Around Basic Computer

Encoding documents, checking emails, listening to CDs, doing homework, and surfing the net; if these are your usual activities then you do not need a multifaceted computer. Complexity has no place here. Any standard unit from the electronic shop will do.

On The Go

For students, a laptop is the ideal notebook (redundancy not intended). This is ideal for school works, particularly when you are one of those people who do their assignments on the way to the university stopping by the adjacent shop to print your documents. The downside, anything portable costs a lot. Battery life is also an issue.

Choosing a gadget can be a complicated task. There are a huge number of gadget retailers, both online and off, and they offer a numbing array of items. If you’re looking to buy someone a gadget, a lot of your decision will depend on how much money you plan on spending. There are gadgets for every budget, and for every season.

Here’s a few gadgets that may be of interest:

Smartphones: Smartphones are just that, phones with a whole lot of additional smart features. SmartPhones are a new generation of handheld devices which allow you to make cellular and data calls with ease. More powerful than some PDAs, SmartPhones threaten the entire PDA business. The Palm Treo is a notable brand.

UMPCs – Ultra Mobile Personal Computers, also known as the Origami Form factor are geared for the market between PDAs and Laptops. Smaller than laptops, they boast of longer lasting battery life and more software. In fact, one of the main selling points of UMPCs is the fact they run Windows Tablet OS and are compatible with Office. Microsoft and Intel championed the UMPC form factor initially to be offered in the $500-$1000 price range. The reality is, the units will be closer to $1200. Samsung is the first OEM to market with its’innovative Q1 UMPC. They plan on offering it for sale in the US and most of the world in May 2006.

Robots – Domesticated robots like the Roomba are quite a sensation. People are definitely interested in the potential time saving qualities of robots. Robots that mow the lawn and clean the house are now a reality. In the future, more tasks will be assigned to robotic helpers.

Cameras and Camcorders – Sony Handycam has a very hot offering right now with it’s MiniDV Digital Video Recorders. The units have excellent picture quality and shoot straight to mini-DVDs, which should play anywhere. For the price, the HandyCam MiniDV has a rich feature set, which allows for flicker-free filming. You can’t beat a camcorder for capturing precious moments.

Tablet PCs and PDAs – Although feeling pressure from the UMPCs and SmartPhones, PDAs and Tablet PCs are still a popular item.

Blackberry and Palms are still extremely popular PDAs, and Blackberry has over 2 million people using its’ commercial email service. Tablet PCs carry a hefty price-tag, but have excellent features like hand-writing recognition. In fact, use of the stylus is natural, and anyone with an artistic bent would seemingly love this device.

Any of the above items would make an excellent gift for a gadget enthusiast. The main thing to do is consider the person’s lifestyle before making a purchase. Since almost all gadgets carry relatively high price tags, it’s worth finding out for sure what the person wants, or you run the risk of making an expensive mistake. Check all gadgets for the presence of extras, such as service plans, that aren’t included in the purchase price.

We live in an amazingly brilliant era. With new advancements, new fields of science are constantly being explored and innovative products that exist to make our lives easier emerge every other day. These products are so overwhelmingly attractive, that they transform the way we play, work, communicate and the basically the way we live our lives. Some are merely eye candies, most come with useful functions, some are imaginatively created while some are must-haves that are fast becoming part of our daily needs and wants.

What happens when we become so enamored with owning these gadgets? Sure, we can live without them but it’s just so tempting seeing your best friend tinkering with the latest Apple iPhone. It’s so enviable when you visit your neighbor and discover the latest 42 inch Sony plasma TV right smack in their living room. And it’s simply frustrating to have that new XBOX 360 Elite set in your wish list for ages, only to find your nephew happily enjoying Halo 3 on the his new XBOX 360 in the comfort of his own room.

So what are our options, you ask. How can we obtain these deliciously high tech thingamajigs? Well, you could always try online shopping sites such as eBay. These auction sites require you to place the highest bids until you are deemed the winner, but usually this involves a lot of auction sniping and waiting till the last minute, only to find that you’ve been outbid by a meager $ 0.10! How maddening could that be?

The good news is that, eBay is not the only auction site you can rely on to purchase affordable gadgets you’ve always dreamed about. Now, there’s an even more innovative way to get absolutely cheaper gadgets for a fraction of their retail prices.

At www.X5.com.au, the latest leading reverse auction site in the world, you’ll find a world of great gadget bargains; all available with a mere submission of your lowest unique bid.
Why should you trust that the X5 reverse auction sites would guarantee you an exceptional bidding experience? Traditionally, conventional auction sites like eBay could be your answer in getting cheaper gadgets but how much cheaper? $ 5 cheaper? $ 50? If you think is a bargain, think again. With X5 reverse auctions, you can achieve total savings of up to 99% for any item you bid on! Imagine giving yourself a spanking new Sony PSP and paying only $ 2.39 for this must-have gadget! You also can search for specific titles and artists. Want to mix things up? Click Shuffle Songs for a different experience every time.

The big, bright, colour 2.5 inches display of this Apple iPod Classic makes the viewing experience equally enjoyable. Owners of the Apple ipod classic can purchase movies from the iTunes Store and watch the same as and when they want to. iPod classic comes with three games–Vortex, iQuiz, and Klondike–and you can purchase games, such as Monopoly, from the iTunes Store. You can use the iPod classic for up to 7 hours to cater to your entertainment needs.

It shouldn’t be forgotten either that while the display of the iPod Classic isn’t as good as the iPod Touch or iPhone, it is still quite good or you can play music videos, TV shows, and movies purchased on the iTunes Store. One can synchronize the gadget with personal computers and store up to 25,000 photos.

This little thing can hold 120 gb Apple iPod Classic of info, sounds incredible and offers gapless playback! No pauses what-so-ever, in between the songs that aren’t supposed to have any. You can listen to a lot of progressive metal and classical, and was really annoyed at how many mp3 players would not feature this. Now this stylish and compact player has the thing I cherish the most. The only couple of comments, cover flow is slow, and seems to re-load all album art each time cover art is selected and the silver metal lining of the back of the iPod can be quickly damaged, so buy a cover.

Overall, they are fantastic, great clarity regarding the screen, great sound, very thin-great for travel. Apple mainly focuses its development on the iPods unique user interface and its ease of use, more than on technical capability. Apple iPod Classic like its predecessors has succeeded in making record sales in the electronic market with in a limited period of sale. Apple offers options to fit just about anyone.

Your much awaited travel plans will be greatly enhanced if you are well equipped with the appropriate travel gadgets. I have compiled a list of some gadgets that are sure to fill the down time and enhance the wow time!

1. iPods; Bringing an iPod loaded up with a variety of your favorite music can add a personal touch to an unfamiliar territory. It can be comforting and this comfort extends to helping an individual relax at night. Many people have slight to moderate difficulty sleeping in strange places. Also, iPod speakers are very small, portable and wireless and can allow you to play your music in your room, at the beach or by the pool, etc. An iPod arm band is another stylish accessory that will prove useful.

2. An Electronics Hammock; This gadget compliments any of your small gadgets that need charging. This Hammock is positioned right below an outlet by fastening to the plug itself and holds your electronic product to ensure that it does not dangle precariously or lay on the ground at risk of getting wet or stepped on.

3. Indestructible Travel Cases; Keeping your electronic gadgets with you at all times and also keeping them safe and dry is easier than ever before with the waterproof and crushproof Pelican Micro Case Series of cases. There’s even a purge valve to equalize the pressure!

4. Nintendo DS, Gameboy, Playstation portable; These three products are all hand held game consoles. Although marketed for adolescents, many adults also own and play these game consoles. There are hundreds of games to choose from and the DS has features such as PictoChat and 2 player capabilities. These features enable more than one user who has their own console to be partaking in the same activity or game. These players are connected wirelessly through a system to system wireless connection. Therefore, the 2 player feature only requires one of the players to actually have the game inserted into their DS. PictoChat allows for simple input of keyboard text and written text/drawings to be exchanged by up to 16 people.

5. Educational Computer Software; Educational computer software is great for children when they have some downtime either in the hotel, car or in the airplane. This activity is engaging and playful as well as intellectual. Bringing your laptop along is obviously required. WiFi is available at most hotels and a number of restaurants and travel service areas. Using the WiFi connection will enable you to check weather, get directions and phone numbers and look up local attractions.

6.The 150-Country Auto-Detecting Travel Adapter and Converter: A lightweight, compact device that automatically detects incoming voltage, converts it to 120-volt AC power, and provides plug adaptation for over 150 countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas and Caribbean, and Australia. The plug configures to fit a variety of international sockets, and it has a built-in USB port that allows you to leave chargers for cell phones, digital cameras, iPods, and other devices at home. The device also allows simultaneous AC and USB connection to charge two devices at once.

7. Voltaic Backpack; Voltaic backpack is a solar powered backpack. This sleek accessory will power every one of your gadgets (save your laptop) as long as there’s daylight. It is also a stylish bag to carry while on any trip. Specifics include;

• 4 Watts of Solar Power: From three tough, light weight, waterproof solar panels

• 4-6 hours of direct sunlight produce enough charge to fully charge a typical cell phone

• Battery Included: 4,400mAh at 3.6 volts Li-Ion battery pack with 3 voltage settings to store solar power

• When not in the sun, the battery can be charged using the AC travel charger or DC car charger making it just as useful on the grid as off

• 11 standard adaptors for easy connections to common cell phones and universal plugs

• Includes a car charger socket and USB adaptor so you can always use a standard charger for your device

• Note: It is not designed to charge laptops, it will however charge cell phones, sat phones, PDAs, GPSs, iPods, cameras and most other handheld electronics

Technology allows us to enhance our much awaited travel plans by arming us with very cool gadgets. I am sure the items on the list that I have compiled will enhance your vacation!

There was probably a time when the words “pink” and “gadgets” did not appear in the same sentence, much less next to each other. After all, these words could not be farther from each other in meaning. “Pink” denotes femininity and daintiness, while “gadgets” conjure up images of computers and electronic technology. However, this is not the case anymore. A couple of quick searches on the Internet will find you a myriad of gadgets in various shades of pink, from digital cameras to USB flash drives.

Have girlish girls become more of techies, or have female geeks become more inclined to show their feminine side? Probably both, but whichever it is, pink gadgets have arrived and they’re here to stay. You would be hard-pressed to find a gadget, say a cellphone for example, that was not available in the color pink. So ladies, rejoice. If you love both the color pink and high tech gadgets, then you should not be missing out on pink gadgets.

Express yourself and play your favorite music on pink dog-shaped speakers. Add touches of femininity to your computer or laptop with a pink keyboard and mouse. Making home improvements need not be a manly task – do it with a pink tool kit, complete with a hammer, pliers, and everything else you need. Stay nice and sweet while digging in the dirt with a pink garden kit. When going to the gym, ditch your dull and boring gear and bring along a pink gym kit instead. Match your pink automobile with a ladies car set that will hold all your belongings while you’re on the road.

Pink gadgets are not only nice to look at, they’re also useful and practical. Another reason to love pink gadgets is that they allow you to be color coordinated at all times. Finally, an MP3 player that matches your lip gloss and your handbag.

A portable CD/DVD disposal unit that plugs into the USB port. That’s what CD Destroyer from Vubest of Taiwan is. At the touch of a button, the device scratches circular patterns on CD’s readable surface rendering its contents useless in six seconds. It’s not very clear how the company’s claims that this is the eco-friendly and safest way to get rid of your optical media, but if you do not have the knack for physically snapping your CD into half or putting them into the microwave, this is your next best bet. CD Destroyer is light and comes with a USB cable and a leather carrying case.

Piles of slides and negatives can be quite costly to convert through an external service provider. Breathe new life into your old 35mm slides and film negatives by converting them into digital images with the Slide/Film Digital Converter, which connects to your Windows XP computer via USB 2.0 cable. One-touch scanning, three LED for backlighting and a 5MP CMOS sensor ensure that you will get aligned output, exposure control and color balance. The result: quality images up to 1800 dpi that you can edit with the included software. Turn negatives into positives, crop and resize as you wish. Your memories have never looked better.

Are your vinyl LPs and cassette tapes gathering dust on your music room shelf? Here are some USB powered solutions for converting your analog music into digital. ionAudio’s USB Cassette Archiver turns your audio tapes into CDs or MP3. It uses Audacity software and EZ Tape Converter, and is PC and Mac compatible. No drivers required. For your vinyl records, ionAudio also has a Vinyl Recording Portable USB Turntable for 11, 45 and 78 rpm records. It utilizes Audacity software and Vinyl Converter by MixMeister, reduces noise for quality sound output, and can be battery-powered on the go. The best part? They’re surprisingly affordable for such quality output.

Did you know that the design of the Olympic torch came from the design team at Lenovo, which worked on it for ten months? The winning “Cloud of Promise” design is not only on the torch, but also on Lenovo laptops and USB drives, as the company is a worldwide sponsor of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The laptops look more impressive than the storage devices, which are only available in China. Souvenir hunters will be happy to pick these up in Beijing during the Games, but the limited distribution points to one thing: the Olympics may not be so hot elsewhere.

They may not look fancy, but IronKey calls its USB drives the world’s most secure. And they are certainly the most sophisticated ones out in the market today. Read speeds reach up to 30 MBps and write speeds up to 20 MBps. IronKey employs AES hardware encryption and secure online backup for password recovery. It cannot be hacked, rendering other password manager software program on regular USB drives inferior. The drive is tamper-proof, housed in waterproof metal casing, and will self-destruct in case of physical attack. The interior components are sealed in an epoxy-based potting compound. IronKey works on Windows XP and Windows Vista computers without drivers or software. It is designed with business, military and government use in mind. IronKey comes in 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB for Basic, Personal or Enterprise use, with prices starting at $79.

Where did that phrase come from? Boys toys, toys for boys etc. The time was| Time Was when you could bet your last pound that the car with wide wheels, noisy exhaust, flared arches, and an engine screaming ‘change gear NOW NOW NOW! ‘ would be driven by a boy. These days it is as likely to be a young lady (another word where the meaning has changed dramatically).

Boys toys has come to mean anything that makes boys happy that they can buy, swap share look at play with admire show off etc. This can be anything from a gleaming red Ferrari, to something as simple as a jumping bean.

The biggest surge in boys toys is in the unusual gift area, I mean what Do you buy for the boy who has everything? How about a remote control miniature helicopter?

These tiny beasties are incredibly small, incredibly lightweight and are remote control, giving kids of all ages fun. Fly them around your office when the boss isn’t looking, Better still, if YOU are the boss, fly them around when he IS looking.

How about a miniature sweety grabber, all the fun of the fair in a little plastic box. Control the levers, grab the sweeties, and bring them back to the opening where they drop and you eat them. Takes you back to when you were a child.

Another big growth area is USB powered gadgets and gizmos. These little things plug into your USB port of your computer, laptop each other, and are immediately ready to go.

Two of the most popular are the USB boxer, and the USB pole dancer. The USB boxer stands in front of that punch bag and hits it for six, or rather, you hit it for 6.

Once the USB Boxer gets going he’ll punch away as you tap the left and right arrow keys jabbing the speed ball as he rotates around it. Boy does it tire your fingers out quickly! With various game modes and an automatic setting to unleash the USB Boxers full potential you can just sense how highly addictive and immensely competitive this office toy really is. The easy to use software records all your punches and sets your scores, a perfect excuse to gather all your mates together for a full blown on contest to see who really is the toughest of them all!

The other favourite is the pole dancing lady (is there such a thing?) Complete with podium and light show, she will gyrate and make you smile, a real great executive toy. Best of all, she works for free.

So if you are lost for gift ideas for the man (or boy ) in your life, or if you are looking for executive gifts with a difference, think of the new generation of boys toys, gifts, gadgets and gizmos.

About Author

Why is it that Christmas seems to creep up on you unannounced every year? No matter how well you plan and prepare for it, there are still some people in your life that are hard to find gifts for. If you want to avoid going the traditional route and resorting to socks, it pays to think about what each person is interested in before you hit the shops in search of that unique gift.

If you know anyone who is obsessed with computers, you’ll no doubt be aware of the huge range of gift ideas that are out there. The problem is that if you aren’t knowledgeable yourself you could end up buying the wrong thing – a computer game that doesn’t play on your recipient’s computer for example. So why not resort to the wide range of novelty Christmas presents available to put a smile on the face of any computer fanatic?

USB gadgets are proving extremely popular, with anything from a fan to a desktop vacuum available to plug into any standard USB port. There are so many USB toys to choose from, you are sure to find something that will appeal to the person you are buying a Christmas gift for.

The one item that all computer users find handy are mouse mats. These mats come in all shapes and sizes and they make an ideal Christmas gift if you want something fairly simple and inexpensive. Because they are small and light, they are also very cheap to post – making them a perfect choice for friends and relatives who live overseas. As with the USB gadgets, there are also plenty of different options to choose from.

While on the subject of computer mice, why not buy a mouse to remember? Most people have a plain old mouse that has seen better days, and would welcome receiving a new computer mouse that will bring a smile to their face every time they sit down at their computer. How about a bright orange mouse in the shape of a goldfish? Or perhaps a mouse in the shape of a car for the younger member of the family who has just passed their driving test? This mouse even comes with working headlights. There are plenty more to choose from, including ones with animal stripes and spots, and even one in the shape of a ghost.

The key to choosing the right gift is to give yourself plenty of time – don’t get caught in the trap of running around the shops on Christmas Eve and panicking because most of the best gifts have long since sold out. Think about the person you need to buy a gift for, and consider what other interests they have apart from computers. Could you combine the two in some way?

In short, a little advance planning will ensure you buy the right gifts for the right people – and enjoy a Christmas to remember.
